The fine folks living in the small, quiet town of Calico have a CATastrophe of CATaclysmic proportions brewing! A bunch of catpokes have moseyed a herd of skittish calico cats to the outskirts of their fine town to partake in the rodent-rich grazing opportunities the surrounding prairie provides, and before the flying hair and dust settles, cause all sorts of mischief.
A Western-style musical melodrama spoof, the show features feline-loving Catpokes complete with cowboy poetry and songs, a crew of calico “bean cookers” at “Miss Kitty’s Beans, Beans, and More Beans” Eating Establishment, Sheriff Jack and her fearless bunch of deputies on the trail of nefarious “hiss”-worthy villains Cal ‘n’ Co Rustlers, and just to cause a few more tangles, a pretty group of activists from the “Rodents Have Rights” Organization, who arrive by train to advocate for their little furry friends everywhere.
And of course, there are a lot of cats- calico cats, that is- with the interactive help of the audience! Find out if the CATerwaulin’ will come to an end and all will put their differences aside and learn to get along when the KYT Players take the stage.
Help Us Keep the Playhouse Open!
We are so thankful for any support you have given us in the past,
but now is the time to help Kaleidoscope continue to provide the best theater opportunities for children and youth in
the Gallatin Valley and we want YOU to be there beside us.
If you haven't made a donation yet,
Please consider making a donation today to help us stay in our NEW HOME.
After eleven years of being “theater gypsies,” moving from location to location to find space for programs and to perform shows, Kaleidoscope finally found a suitable and convenient home at 1602 West Beall Street in February of 2011. The Kaleidoscope Playhouse has allowed even more expansion in programming and opportunities for kids. Brightly painted, it mirrors the energy, enthusiasm, and imagination of the young actors that call its stage home. It is also a comfortable venue for other theater groups, artists, musicians, and community organizations to meet, rehearse, or perform, furthering Kaleidoscope’s mission to “grow creative kids and
community through theater.”
